Kelaniya university is University of Kelaniya which is located in Dalukama, Kelaniya. It is best University in

Computer studies in Srilanka.

Kelaniya university Vision is " To become a centre of excellence in creation and dissemination of knowledge for sustainable development" and Mission is " To nurture intellectual citizens through creativity and innovation, who contribute to the national development".

My university has 7 facalties : Science, Commerce & Management, Computing and Technologies, Social Science, Graduate Studies, Humanities studies and Medicine . I study in science faculty. In the Science faculty there is 8 Departments: Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Industrial management, Zoology and Environmental management, Statistic and computer management and mathematics. Kelaniya innovations have been adopted subsequently by other Universities.

First time I Entered to my university like this welcome structure designed to welcome us. first day at my University was very special to me. Our Seniors welcome us at the Entrance. This picture show the structure at the Entrance. It is made by our seniors.

Kelaniya university's chancellor is Aggamaha Saddhammajothika Dhaja, Tripitaka Vagishvaracharya,  Upadhyaya Dhurandara ,Mahopadaya, Pandith, the most Venerable Welamitiyawe Dharmakirthi Sri Kusala Dhamma Thero and vice Chancellor is Professor D. M. Semasinghe Sir.

The University of Kelaniya has its origin in the historic Vidyalankara Pirivena, founded in 1875 as a centre of learning for Buddhist monks. Vidyalankara Pirivena became the Vidyalankara University in 1959, later the Vidyalankara Campus of the University of Ceylon in 1972 and, ultimately, the University of Kelaniya in 1978. Today, the University of Kelaniya is one of the major national Universities. It prohibited ragging in 1996.

The University of Kelaniya has pioneered a number of new developments in higher education. Now university of kelaniya use New technologies in studies. It offer free wifi for students of the university. It offered E-learning systems. University of kelaniya use new technologies in library to keep books and we can find it easily. If we want to read a book we can search it in online and download it as pdf.

University of kelaniya spend lot of their works to keep the university environment very beautiful and peaceful. Academic and non-academic staff is working hard for the university.
